A human Dominican Cross is formed by students and staff from the University of Santo Tomas as they observed Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent, on their campus in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

Organisers said that they had more than 20,000 participants for their attempt to break the world record for forming the largest living cross. (AP)
