Want to impress Tiger Woods? Beat him on his own golf course. Want to really impress Tiger Woods? Do it with a hole in one while you should be at school.

That’s exactly what an 11-year-old from Corpus Christi, Texas did in front of an audience that included the former world No 1.

Taylor Crozier should have been at school with his head buried in textbooks, but instead he was at The Playgrounds, near Houston – a course that Woods helped design – giving his own lesson to the 14-times major winner.

Crozier’s tee shot spun right to find the hole on the 81-yard opener which sent the crowd wild and drew a warm embrace from Woods, who has been off the PGA Tour while recovering from back surgery he underwent last year.

Crozier’s effort helped him and his playing partner, Ceci Lococo, record a rounds of 32 on the ten-hole course, while Woods, 40, could only manage a 35.

Woods, who gave the youngsters a signed scorecard to treasure, tweeted a video of Crozier’s shot, saying: “First hole at The Playgrounds, and this happened.”
