Justine is a registered psychosexual and relationship therapist. She also works as the sex and relationship therapist for a domestic abuse charity and as an assistant teacher on the foundation course in counselling skills and practice at the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology.

Prior to training as a sex and relationship therapist, Justine worked with horses. As almost entirely silent communicators, horses have instilled in Justine an ethos of listening, patience, and empathy. This background has nurtured a keen interest in the parallels between human and non-human animal behaviour, especially within the areas of attachment theory, trauma, and compulsive behaviours.

Justine works with a broad range of sexual function issues and relationship problems, specifically, those issues that are rooted within what some may ascribe as “taboo”. Justine’s empathetic and calm demeanour makes it easier for people to open up about the shame they feel around desires, past experiences, and fantasies. Justine also has an interest in the topics of HIV phobia, and the effect that first-time pregnancy has on the relationship.

Justine is a pluralist therapist, which means she uses the approach that best suits the individual. This is usually a mix of psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, and CBT; however, every treatment plan is bespoke and worked through collaboratively with the client.
