Emma is an experienced Psychotherapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse working within an NHS, Adult Gender Identity and Psychosexual clinic. Emma uses an integrative approach incorporating evidence-based tools in supporting couples and individuals experiencing sexual difficulties. She also supports clients who have mental and physical health conditions. Emma recognises that starting therapy can be an unfamiliar and daunting prospect, particularly when discussing sex, so is passionate about offering a warm, welcoming, respectful and empathic space for clients to identify, express and explore their thoughts and feelings. Emma uses a collaborative approach in supporting her clients in their understanding of their issues and helping them work towards their goals.

In addition to Emma’s Psychosexual and Gender Identity work, Emma’s clinical background includes working with people experiencing common mental health problems such as Depression and Anxiety, as well as those living with severe and enduring mental illness. She is experienced in working with Neurodiversity and adapts therapy techniques to meet the needs of the individual.

Emma is a full member of the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists and has a thorough working knowledge of the particular challenges people who are transitioning or have transitioned face, as well as the potential impact on their relationships.
