SECRET LIFE

I’m ashamed that I like wearing women’s underwear and fear for future relationships

I’d like to take it further and try out women’s beauty products

DEAR DEIDRE: I’M ashamed to admit I feel much more comfortable in women’s clothing than I do in men’s.

Sometimes, when I go out, I even wear a bra and pink frilly camisole under my male clothing.

I’m 23 and have been secretly cross-dressing for five years.

I’d like to take it further and try out women’s beauty products – like lipstick and perfume – and I often imagine having a full makeover in a beauty salon.

But I’m not transgender. I’m happy with my male body.

What worries me is how this will affect future relationships. I’m bi-curious and I’m anxious I’ll always have to keep this a secret from a potential boyfriend or girlfriend.

MORE FROM DEAR DEIDRE

DEIDRE SAYS: It’s more common than you’d think. For some, it is an escape from traditional male roles, while for others it’s sexual.

It is important to do what feels comfortable and the right partner will accept you as you are.

You can read my Cross-dressing support pack for more information, and for people to talk to.
