Katie, 45, is known for her turbulent private life, which has often been documented via various TV programmes. One reality show, titled 'My Crazy Life' ran from 2017 to 2020.

But in a new interview with OK! Magazine, the star explained what could be behind her turmoil and this has led to some difficult conversations with her dying mum about her life.

She admitted: "I’ve tried to educate my mum, but my brain is wired differently to other people,

"I hate labels, but now my mum and I have both spoken to doctors and she has realised why I’ve done things in the past, why I act the way I do, why I do things, why I am the way I am.

"It’s not because I don’t listen and take it on board, there’s just something in me. I’ve got better now.

"I’ve learnt with therapy to hold back, to listen, and think of what other people are saying – maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, but I think of the consequences.

"It didn’t exist in my head, a consequence, what could go wrong… so, I’ve learned. It’s taken me 45 years, but I’m still here.

"I can admit I have made wrong choices, I haven’t listened to certain things my mum or anyone might have said, so it has put me in situations that have been unnecessary and caused drama and stress.

"I can’t change the past, I can only deal with the future. My mum’s got a new lease of life – I don’t want to be a burden. I’ve been a burden on her for years."

Amy, 71, is currently promoting her new book, The Last Word, and she insisted that she just wants the 'truth' about her daughter to be revealed to the world.

She admitted: "I’ve always felt there’s been an injustice with Katie and I felt like I just wanted to put things straight and put the truth out there.

“I don’t lie, so if it comes from me and the heart, people may take it on board that what I say is the truth.”

Katie has long-suspected she has the condition as she previously revealed that she underwent tests in November to determine if she's living with undiagnosed ADHD.

The 44-year-old model and TV personality is famed for her consistently dramatic social and working life, and while getting therapy has asked for checks to whether she has a behavioural disorder.

Speaking to viewers on her OnlyFans page, Katie explained: "I went to see a doctor to see if I have ADHD and it turns out, I probably have!

"I have got some forms to fill out, say what I was like as a kid, my mum’s got to fill out forms and my dad, and then my next appointment is when I’m back from Thailand."
