See Arnie in the first promo for Celebrity Apprentice USA

Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in the saddle for the eighth celebrity series of the hit NBC show

GIVEN former Apprentice USA boss Donald Trump is busy running for US president, Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking over on the upcoming series.

As Arnie takes the reigns from his controversial predecessor, the first promotional poster for the show sees him riding a bucking horse.

The future of Celebrity Apprentice was put in jeopardy last summer when Donald Trump announced he'd be running for the US presidency and NBC severed all ties with him.

However, it was then announced towards the end of last year that former Californian governor Arnie was set to become the new boss of the boardroom.

The Terminator star will now ultimately be the one deciding which celebrities won't be back.

In the first poster for his debut season, the 68-year-old action hero is seen suited up and sitting on a white steed, and as he appears completely in control of the animal the caption reads: "Taking the reigns."

The poster suggests that a change of direction will be coming with the change of host, as it also says: "The NEW Celebrity Apprentice."

With bluebird skies and exotic palm trees in the background, the poster also features some of the famous faces who will be set challenges each week.

Comedian Jon Lovitz is one of the celebs gazing up at the big boss in awe; he'll be competing against Snooki and Boy George, as well as reality stars Porsha Williams and Kyle Richards.

Helping 'Governator' Arnold separate the wheat from the chaff will be fellow actor Jessica Alba, as well as model Tyra Banks, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, CCO of the Honest Company Warren Buffett and Arnie's own nephew, prominent entertainment attorney Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger.

Filming has already wrapped, but there's been no word on when the new NBC series will air.
