Joey Essex accused of gaslighting as Love Island fans say ‘he’s such a red flag’
Joey tried to defend himself after Movie Night
LOVE Island fans have once again accused Joey Essex of gaslighting Grace Jackson.
During last night’s episode the pair sat down to talk through their furious row during Movie Night – but Joey, 33, refused to admit he was in the wrong.

Those watching at home were not happy about the exchange, with one person raging: “Joey is such a manipulative gaslighting man-child. I don't know how the girls don't see it right away.”
A second remarked: “Joey just casually gaslighting grace.”
While a third added: “It’s the fact that Joey is gaslighting even himself? Which right way did you move.”
Another said: “Why are you 33 on “Love Island”… Joey Essex is a walking red flag.”

As they sat down to chat, Joey started: “Words were exchanged last night and tensions were high but I just wanted to say I hope you do still know I care about you and I don’t want to see you upset. I want you to be happy. I am happy at the minute with Jessy and where it is going.”
Keeping calm Grace told him: “I am genuinely happy for you in that sense but I just think what I saw is what I saw, that didn’t upset me because I feel like it has been done for awhile now.
“I took myself out of the situation on the day I felt disrespected. I was very open for you to get to know her but I think the fact it happened in a few hours of each other and you knew the next morning that I wouldn’t have been happy about you kissing her in bed and on the terrace.”
Joey interrupted: “The only reason we did that was because everyone had come round here and was looking. Listen we wasn’t in a couple. What upset me last night was you saying ‘you are telling me one thing and her the other’. I moved in the right way.”

Shocked, Grace told him: “You didn’t”.
But Joey refused to listen and interjected: “Honestly I am over the whole situation and I just want to draw a line under it we me and you because I would rather be civil with you.”

Grace was clearly baffled by his comments and replied: “I have been civil with you. I have never been the whole bitter thing. I have never said anything bad you or Jessy…”
Joey was initially coupled up with Samantha but ditched her when Grace entered the villa.
His head was then turned by the arrival of Jessy and he has been with her since - even surviving Casa Amor.
