EMMERDALE’S Matty Barton has been given devastating news after wife Amy Wyatt put him in serious danger in prison.

The waiter - who is played by actor Ash Palmisciano in the ITV soap - is in prison after being framed for stabbing Samson Dingle.

He has been forced to keep his being trans a secret over fears he could be attacked in prison - and with good reason.

In tonight’s episode Amy accidentally let slip Matty’s secret to thug Robbo.

But after visitation, Amy was cornered by Robbo who convinced her that he was Matty’s friend Les and just wanted to help him.

She accidentally let slip about Matty being trans - and gave Robbo everything he needed to hurt her husband.

Cornering Matty in his cell, the thug let slip that he knows that he is trans - and launched into a sickening verbal assault.

“She told me everything about you, Matilda,” he said.

“I knew something wasn’t right about you. They should’ve put you in a women’s prison, and you might have made it out alive.”

But before he could attack him, Les arrived and ordered him out.

“I’m going but I’ll be back and you won’t always have your guard dog to protect you,” Robbo warned.

But then things got even worse for Matty as Les

“I get out of here tomorrow,” Les revealed.
