WHAT IS MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT?

Married At First Sight is an international reality TV show which originated in Denmark in 2013, where it is known as Gift ved første blik.

It has since seen versions in 23 other countries, including in the UK, US, France, Italy, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

The show sees singles agreeing to a provocative proposal: getting legally married to a stranger the moment they first meet.

They spend the night in a hotel after the wedding before heading on honeymoon.

Across the course of each series, the couples then return home together and live as a married couple.

And finally they make a decision in the last episode whether or not to stay together or get divorced.
