I’M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here could have a very different looking line-up in 2024 - after bosses reportedly ‘ban’ this one type of star.

It’s been claimed that following a string of political celebrities appearing on the ITV series have proven divisive in recent years.

Nigel Farage appeared in 2023, following former health secretary Matt Hancock's stint in 2022.

As a result, producers are opting to swerve MPs past or present.

This may also have been influenced by the impending general election, which is expected to happen this Autumn, with the series opting to appear more neutral.

A source told The Mirror: “This year, with an election looming, it doesn’t feel like the right moment for that.”

“It’s time for something different so it’s fair to say no one is seeking any controversial figures from the world of politics at this stage,” they added.

The insider also claimed that Ant and Dec also wanted to see a change in the line-up.

With nine months to go before I’m A Celeb is due back on our screens, producers are keeping tight-lipped about who they have on their hit list for this year’s series.

Despite their casting proving controversial, both Hancock and Farage fared well in the public vote over the course of the series run.

Both made it through to the finale, coming in third place during their respective seasons.

Nadine Dorries had previously appeared on the show too back in 2012, still serving as an MP at the time of entering the jungle.

She eventually got suspended for her appearance on the show and had to apologise for the House Of Commons.

Hancock announced six weeks after his time in the jungle that he would be stepping down from his position as MP - and has since attempted to forge a career in reality TV appearing on shows including SAS: Who Dares Wins.

I’m A Celebrity returns later this year on ITV.
