What is Casa Amor?

Casa Amor means Love House in Spanish.

It is separate from the main Love Island villa.

The second luxurious pad is often used midway through the season to shake things up by splitting the existing couples.

Either the boys or the girls are shipped off to the Casa Amor villa and a new bunch of bombshells are sent in to tempt them away from their partner.

Casa Amor was dropped for the first ever season of Love Island: All Stars but is reportedly returning for season 11.

An insider told The Sun: “Casa Amor certainly isn’t gone for good and will return for the summer series, but it just didn’t make sense for the non-civilian [All Stars] show."

How long is Casa Amor?

In previous series of the show, Casa Amor has lasted between three to five days - just enough time for relationships to be broken up and new ones formed.

The exact length of Casa Amor in 2024 hasn't yet been announced.

It usually takes place at the halfway point of the season.

The end date for season 11 is not yet known, but as the show usually runs for eight weeks, the grand finale should fall around the end of July.

Where is the Love Island villa Casa Amor located?

Casa Amor is located on the island of Majorca, close to the main villa.

Filming takes place in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar on the east of the sun-drenched Balearic island.

Its exact location is kept secret by producers.

The main villa is getting a huge makeover ahead of the 2024 series.

In 2023, a TV insider told The Sun: "This year’s Casa Amor will be sexier than ever as it moves away from the main villa and to a remote, romantic villa with its own pool.

“The purpose built home, which is a few minutes’ drive away from the main villa, will mean that when the villas split up, the other group won't be able to hear what's going on.

"They'll be able to let loose without fear of being overheard."

It has not yet been confirmed if the same residence is being used in 2024.

5 secret tricks Casa Amor uses to break Love Island couples up

CASA AMOR separates the existing Islanders across two villas.

Half the group enters Casa Amor, while the rest remain in the main villa.

Each islander will have to decide whether to stick with their partners - or twist and join up with a new singleton.

Here, relationship psychologist Jo Hemmings five secret tricks Casa Amor uses to test the existing relationships.

Feeding snippets about partners' lives

Producers show snippets from the other villa back to the islanders.

However what is being shown to the devastated girls or boys isn't necessarily a true reflection of what has gone on.

Jo said: "The producers carefully curate visual snippets of information, often taken out of context to maximise insecurity."

Letting the new girls study up on their men

Bomshells do have one huge advantage - they can studied the guys and girls and get to know their weak spots.

Jo said: "The new girls know a thing or two about the guys in the villa – they are clued up on their types and any potential flaws or cracks in their current relationships.

"They then use this insider info to lure the boys into temptation with them."

Mimics the original villa layout to provide 'familiarity'

Islanders are lured into a sense of false security as Casa Amor is laid out like the main villa.

Jo said: "By echoing the layout and furnishings of the original villa, the girls feel relaxed and at ease in Casa Amor.

"In familiar surroundings, and entering with all their girlfriends, they feel empowered and more in control, even though this can break down quite quickly."

Abrupt departure to spark trust issues

Jo said the "fast and furious" and "unpredictable" exit "messes with the minds" of the contestants.

Producers often sneak the boys or girls out of the house.

This means the couples have no time to offer reassurances and it can often come after a fight.

Islander's 'types' and sexy challenges create romance

Jo explains: "The first question is always ‘what’s your type?’.

"Even if they claim not to have one, the newbies will always fit the bill for anything the Islanders have previously disclosed, especially if their current partner doesn’t altogether fit that bill.

"This is designed to tempt head turning as fast and as ‘efficiently’ as possible."
