  • Guardiola on England job

Pep Guardiola has ruled out the possibility of him taking over England this summer.

I'm really excited for this season. I’m really happy here.

Like every season I needed a break. but i charge my batteries and i have the same energy like usual.

I know the competition is coming. I'm completely focussed on that because of the respect I have for the organisation.

I feel comfortable because of the quality of the human beings I have in the Manchester City squad.

I like them, I love them. They’ve proved for many years how good they are.

  • More from Guardiola on De Bruyne

Pep Guardiola has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne will spend a 10th season at Manchester City.

The Etihad talisman has been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia in recent months.

And he admitted in the close season the riches on offer were enough to support his family for generations to come.

But Guardiola told a press conference that the 33-year-old will not be going this summer.

Guardiola closed down a question about the Saudi Arabia interest in the Belgian and said: “No - Kevin isn’t leaving.”

Asked what his advice would be to any player who is thinking of leaving the Prem for Saudi or the MLS he said: “Listen to what their heart is telling them.

“Think of what would make them and their family happy - and their life be good.”

  • Jonathan David bid over

West Ham have pulled out of the race to sign Lille striker Jonathan David after being asked to pay £10million in agent fees.

SunSport has learned that West Ham were willing to meet Lille's £30m asking price for the Canadian international, but refused to meet demands for agent fees totalling a third of the player's transfer value.

David is set to leave Lille this summer after entering the last 12 months of his contract, with West Ham amongst several Premier League clubs interested in his services, along with Chelsea and Newcastle.

The 24-year-old has scored 84 goals in 183 appearances for Lille and also played a starring role in helping Canada to the semi-finals of this summer's Copa America.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is targeting a new striker after completing the £40m signing of Max Kilman from old club Wolves last month, but his bosses are refusing to make the deal happen.

West Ham have made a concerted effort to keep spending on agent fees down in recent years and paid £13.8m to intermediaries last season, way behind table topping Chelsea at £75m.

West Ham are now understood to be prioritising a move for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, with the Colombian international available for around £35m.

  • Trevoh Chalobah axe

Chelsea told Trevoh Chalobah to stay at home and not travel for pre-season.

The Blues are travelling to the USA for their pre-season tour and will face the likes of Wrexham as well as Celtic.

However, Chalobah will not be travelling with the West Londoners this summer.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that the centre-back has been told to stay at home.

It is suggested that the club feels "heavy" with defenders as Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo are all going.

Romano added that Josh Acheampong would also be joining the trip as the club want to take a "good look" at him.

  • More on Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain's bid to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen has been dealt a blow.

PSG want to make a statement signing to replace Kylian Mbappe, who left on a free this summer to join Real Madrid.

According to Calcio Mercato, Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda flew to Paris to facilitate negotiations.

This led to a call being held on Monday between Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and PSG supremo Nasser Al Khelaifi as well as sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos.

However, these talks have led to the deal grinding to a halt with the Parisians saying they have no intention of triggering the striker's £109.5million release clause.

The Partenopei did offer to reduce the fee if Kang-In Lee was included in a deal, but this proposal was swiftly rejected.

PSG duo Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele were then spoken about instead, though this idea was also struck down.

  • Victor Osimhen transfer boost

Napoli wantaway star Victor Osimhen's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is on the brink of collapse.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that under the current conditions, the deal is not happening.

However, Osimhen's Premier League suitors would still need to match his £109.5million release clause.

The breakdown of talks has opened the door for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

  • De Bruyne 'not leaving'

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists Kevin De Bruyne won't leave the club this summer.

De Bruyne has been heavily linked with a summer move to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Ittihad showing interest.

The playmaker has one-year left on his City contract and said last month he would have to consider an offer from the Saudi Pro-League because of the "incredible money".

    Kevin isn’t leaving

  • PSG eye Jadon Sancho

Paris Saint-Germain are actively looking to sign Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho this summer.

According to Sky Sports, there has been no formal approach yet but PSG are exploring the possibility of a deal for Sancho.

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund remain keen on the winger but can't meet United's valuation.

An unnamed Premier League club has also shown interest in the England international.

The 24-year-old is back training with the first team and is expected to fly to the US with the rest of the squad for pre-season.

  • More on Eberechi Eze

Manchester City have more power to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze than any other of his suitors.

City have been linked with Eze, who has also attracted interest from Tottenham and Arsenal.

According to The Mirror, however, both the Gunners and Spurs would be left "powerless" if the Citizens come in with a massive bid for the forward.

City boss Pep Guardiola has a "long-standing admiration for Eze" and views him as a perfect successor to Al Ittihad-linked Kevin De Bruyne.

  • Podence on the move

Wolves star Daniel Podence isn't expected to join Gary O'Neil's side for their US pre-season tour.

Podence has expressed his desire to rejoin Olympiacos and the clubs are working on a deal.

The winger has a contract until 2025 and a minimum price of £5-10m has been touted.

Saudi clubs expressed interest in the Portuguese star last year.

  • Eberechi Eze transfer war

Manchester City are set to join the race for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham and Arsenal are already hot on the heels of Palace's £68million-rated playmaker.

According to The Mirror, City chiefs are plotting their own approach as Al-Ittihad try to lure Kevin De Bruyne to Saudi Arabia.

SunSport understands Eze is on the Citizens' wishlist but a move would only happen if someone in his position were to leave.

  • Chelsea target Filip Jorgensen

Chelsea have made an initial approach for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

The Blues are in the market for a new No1 after both Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic failed to convince like previous starting keepers like Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois.

The West Londoners' new manager Enzo Maresca supposedly wants a goalkeeper comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Chelsea chiefs have identified Jorgensen and talks have begun with the player's representatives, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The Denmark Under-21 international played 37 times for Villarreal last season and made 143 saves - which was more than any other keeper in LaLiga.

The 22-year-old reportedly has a £34million release clause.

  • Spurs confirm Pierre exit

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is off on loan to Marseille.

The Ligue 1 club are then obligated to purchase the Dane for £17million at the end of the season.

  • Ivan the terribly expensive

Brentford are still demanding a massive fee for Ivan Toney.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea were all linked with the England striker.

But it's thought they baulked at the Bees' £70million asking price.

More recently the 28-year-old has been valued at "only" £55m.

But Brentford manager Thomas Frank has warned Toney would be "expensive".

The Dane said: "I would love him to stay. That would give me a very positive challenge.

“Right now, Ivan is a Brentford player. I would be more than happy if he stayed with us.

He’s a goalscorer and that’s very good to have in your team so if you want to buy him, it’s expensive.”

  • Joao won't Costa £100m

Prem admirers have been told Joao Neves might be sold for below his £100million release clause.

Benfica president Rui Costa also denied ever saying the Arsenal-linked midfielder would cost a nine-figure sum.

Costa added of the 19-year-old Portugal star: "There is an offer on the table but at this moment, Joao Neves remains a Benfica player.

“I understand Benfica fans want to know whether Joao will be leaving or not but there are ongoing negotiations."

  • Ox could be farmed out on loan

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been offered to British clubs by current side Besiktas.

The 30-year-old midfielder could be allowed to leave on loan if his wages are covered by the club he joins.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for Besiktas last season after joining in August 2023.

  • PSG 'keen on Fernandes'

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes might yet be the subject of an unlikely bid from PSG.

That's if the latest transfer speculation over the Portugal midfielder has any truth.

    Credit: The Times

Respected French outlet L’Equipe claim PSG have a “significant interest” in the 29-year-old.

However, Fernandes remains a key player at Old Trafford.

And he has two years left on his contract.

One glimmer of hope for the Ligue 1 champs could be Fernandes not directly clearing up the issue of his future when he was questioned after last season's FA Cup final win over Man City.

  • All Ad's up to plenty of attention

Juventus playmaker Adrien Rabiot is reportedly being targeted by a string of European giants.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are rated amongst his main admirers.

Caught Offside also link Barcelona and Real Madrid with the 48-cap ex-PSG star.

But it's suggested Rabiot's wages could be a problem.

The 48-cap Frenchman Adrien Rabiot is said to want up to £13million a year.

  • United target Wan-Bissaka replacements

Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of right-backs if Aaron Wan-Bissaka departs this summer.

Fulham, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Bournemouth have been linked with the 26-year-old.

Sky Sports say United regard Monaco’s Vanderson and Bayer Leverkusen ace Jeremie Frimpong as possible replacements.

  • Blues' starlet Alfie wanted on loan

Championship clubs want Chelsea defender Alfie Gilchrist on loan.

So says transfer guru Fabrizio Romano after the 20-year-old Englishman was expected to be omitted from the Blues' squad for their pre-season tour of the US.

Romano named Sheffield United and Preston in connection with the Londoner, who has been with Chelsea 10 years.

  • Chelsea tipped to loan out new boy Caleb

New Chelsea left-back Caleb Wiley is expected to be instantly loaned out to Strasbourg for the season.

The £8.5milion recruit from Atlanta, 19, signed a six-year contract with the Blues.

But the twice-capped starlet is currently in Paris with the USA squad for the Olympics.

  • Double snag for Juve bid to land Sancho

Juventus must sell two wingers to fund buying Jadon Sancho.

That's the claim tonight amid reports PSG are also keen on the Manchester United wideman.

Italy's Federico Chiesa and Argentinian Matias Soulé could be offloaded if Juve put together a serious approach for Sancho.

    Credit: Rex

Transfer expert Gianluca Dimarzio told wettbasis: "Juventus are looking for wingers, but they need to sell before they can buy.

"They need to sell Federico Chiesa, they need to sell Matias Soulé. They need to raise money to get their desired players.

Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi is another wideman on Juve's radar.

  • Mikel unsure over Calafiori

Mikel Arteta is uncertain if he'll make the signings he wants - and when Riccardo Calafiori's arrival will be confirmed.

As the squad jetted off to Los Angeles from Stansted, the Arsenal chief said: “I don’t know if anyone will join.

It’s still a lot of time in the window but that’s more of a question for (sporting director) Edu and the board.

“When you’re so close you want to grab it. We are very close.”

Asked if he could put a date on the Calafiori deal the Arsenal boss said: “No, unfortunately not — but we know there are certain positions we want to improve and give the squad better resources.

“We will try our best but the main thing is to focus on falling in love with the players we have and make them better.”

  • Arteta pleads for more signings

Mikel Arteta demanded Arsenal chiefs make signings if he is to turn the club into Premier League champs.

The Gunners boss is desperate to end the club’s 21-year wait for the title — after falling two points short of Manchester City last term.

Asked if they need to buy new players, Arteta said: “We have to. Perfection in this league requires different standards.

“To relate that word perfection to winning the Premier League, then that’s what we have to do.

“We need to upgrade in everything we are doing. We have to improve in every area and that is what we are trying to do.”

    Credit: Getty

Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, 22, still seems the closest big name to joining for £42million.

But so far keeper David Raya making his loan from Brentford permanent for a fee of £27m is the only major business by the club this summer.

Arteta previously said PSR constraints have held the club back in their battle to overthrow rivals City at the top of the Premier League.

  • Frank insists Toney will be 'expensive'

Brentford boss Thomas Frank hopes to keep in-demand hitman Ivan Toney and insists he'd be "expensive" to buy

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have been mentioned in connection with the six-cap Englishman.

    Credit: Rex

But the Bees' initial valuation of around £70million deterred many admirers.

It's now understood Toney might be available for £55m.

But Frank said: "I would love him to stay. That would give me a very positive challenge.

"Right now, Ivan is a Brentford player. I would be more than happy if he stayed with us.

"He’s a goalscorer and that’s very good to have in your team so if you want to buy him, it’s expensive.”
