THIS time last year Professor Robert Kelly was giving a very serious interview about South Korea live on BBC World News.
Then out of nowhere, his two adorable children, two-year-old Marion and eight-month-old James, walked into shot and became a viral sensation.
Today the Beeb remembered the milestone occasion and tweeted the brilliant video out to their followers.
They recalled: “One year ago today the world became a better place. #BBCdad.”
Fans of Robert and his kids fondly remembered the moment with one person replying: “Still the best BBC clip of all time. Love it! So heartwarming, and what a lovely jaunty walk his daughter has.”
A second tweeted: “Still love it. The way the kids just barge in to see what dad doing.”
Another commented: “Probably the greatest thing to ever happen on live TV.”
After the youngsters burst in and start trying to crawl on him, his wife could be seen running into shot and dragging the tots out.
Robert managed to keep his composure and closed his eyes for a few seconds before apologising for the unexpected interruption.
After the huge reaction to the video, Robert, his wife and their two children gave an interview to assure people the moment wasn’t staged.
He joked: “I thought it was a disaster,” before fending off questions about whether or not he was wearing trousers.
Robert explained: "Yes I was wearing pants!
“Someone at lunch asked me if wearing pants. Strangers ask me if I was wearing pants!”
Asked about whether he’d watched the moment back, Robert said: “It was funny.
“If you watch the tape I was sort of struggling to keep my own laughs down. They’re little kids and that’s how things are.
“I made this minor mistake that turned my family into YouTube stars. It’s pretty ridiculous.”
