JK Rowling ‘won’t forgive’ Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson for speaking out to oppose her views on trans debate
The author was asked how she would react if she received an apology from the actors
JK ROWLING has suggested she may not forgive Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson for their opposing stances on the transgender debate.
The Harry Potter author posted a string of comments on X, formerly Twitter, in the wake of a report by Dr Hilary Cass into gender services in Britain.

The review found teenagers have been permitted to change gender based on "remarkably weak evidence".
JK Rowling tweeted that Dr Cass had conducted the "most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that's ever been conducted".
She added that "kids have been irreversibly harmed, and thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations".
X user Adam Harris replied to Rowling's thread, saying he was waiting for "Dan and Emma" to "give you a very public apology, safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them".
He was seemingly referring to Harry Potter and Hermione Granger actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
Rowling answered: "Not safe, I'm afraid.
"Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces."
Watson had previously waded into the transgender debate, writing: "Trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren’t who they say they are.

"I want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are."
Radcliffe also voiced an opinion, saying: "Transgender women are women.
"Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on the subject matter than either Jo (Rowling) or I."
Rowling had faced a backlash in 2020 outlining her position on the reality of biological sex, writing: "I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives."
Several Harry Potter film stars - Watson and Radcliffe among them - made public statements about the transgender debate after the author made her stand.
In a landmark review, published on Wednesday, Dr Cass says that the "toxicity" of gender debate meant that professionals were "afraid" to discuss their views openly.
The review was commissioned by NHS England in 2020 and examined gender identity services for under-18s.

Rowling posted on X last night: "Over the last four years, Hilary Cass has conducted the most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that's ever been conducted.
"Mere hours after it was released to the press and public, committed ideologues are doubling down.
"These are people who've deemed opponents 'far-right' for wanting to know there are proper checks and balances in place before autistic, gay and abused kids - groups that are all overrepresented at gender clinics - are left sterilised, inorgasmic, lifelong patients.
"I understand that the review's conclusions will have come as a seismic shock to those who've hounded and demonised whistleblowers and smeared opponents as bigots and transphobes, but trying to discredit Hilary Cass's work isn't merely misguided. It's actively malign.
"Even if you don't feel ashamed of cheerleading for what now looks like severe medical malpractice, even if you don't want to accept that you might have been wrong, where's your sense of self-preservation?
"The bandwagon you hopped on so gladly is hurtling towards a cliff.
"And if I sound angry, it's because I'm bloody angry. I read Cass this morning and my anger's been mounting all day.
"Kids have been irreversibly harmed, and thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations.
"I thought the last tweet was going to be my last, but I just burst into tears.
"The #CassReview may be a watershed moment, but it comes too late for detransitioners who've written me heartbreaking letters of regret.
"Today's not a triumph, it's the laying bare of a tragedy."
It comes as Wes Streeting dramatically ditched his hardline gender stance, admitting it was a mistake to insist that all trans women are women.
The Shadow Health Secretary, speaking to The Sun's new politics show Never Mind the Ballots, told host Harry Cole that he did not stand by the claim that "trans women are women, get over it".
He added: “To the extent that - and I say this with some self criticism and reflection - if you'd asked me a few years ago, on this topic, I would have said trans men are men, trans women are women.

"Some people are trans, get over it. Let's move on. This is all blown out of proportion.
“And now I sort of sit and reflect and think actually, there are lots of complexities.”
