Donald Trump puts kids Ivanka, Donald Jr, Eric and Jared Kushner in charge as he starts ‘Making America Great Again’

Trump plots drastic staff overhaul as he begins transition to presidency with Vice President-elect Mike Pence by his side

DONALD Trump has seriously overhauled his staff before even taking office.

In a clear move to give his children control, the President-elect ousted New Jersey governor Chris Christie, who would have been chief of his transition to presidency, instead giving the job to Vice President-elect Mike Pence and his own kids.

Trump's adult children Ivanka, Donald Jr and Eric Trump, along with his son-in-law Jared Kushner, will have roles on the transition board.

Kushner, Ivanka's husband, accompanied Trump to Washington to meet with Barack Obama and key congressional leaders on Thursday.

In a statement announcing the overhaul, Trump’s office said: “Together this outstanding group of advisors, led by Vice President-elect Mike Pence, will build on the initial work done under the leadership of New Jersey Gov.

“Chris Christie to help prepare a transformative government ready to lead from day one.”

Christie will be accompanied by ex-New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, Dr Ben Carson, Lieutenant General Mike Flynn, and Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, venture capitalist Thiel, Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon, and Rep. Chris Collins of New York are also on the list for Trump’s transition team.

Early Trump supporters Anthony Scaramucci, Reince Priebus, Rep. Lou Barletta and Tom Marino are also expected to be handed a role, along with California Rep. Devin Nunes.

Trump’s chief of staff will be tasked with overseeing the execution of his policies, in his bid to “Make America Great Again”.

Specific emphasis will be placed on health care, immigration and economic policy.

As he set about appointing his transition team, Trump tweeted: “Busy day planned in New York.

“Will soon be making some very important decisions on the people who will be running our government!”

The decision on a chief of staff is expected to be finalised this weekend.
