Who is Hunter Biden’s lawyer, George Mesires?
A PUBLICATION of an old text exchange between Hunter Biden and his lawyer has dragged corporate attorney George Misires into the spotlight.
The texts, which reportedly came from Hunter's laptop, were published by the Daily Mail, and here's all we know.
Who is George Mesires?
George Misires is a corporate attorney currently acting as a partner with Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP.
According to Mesires’ LinkedIn account, he is also a Director of the Kendall Corporation, a not-for-profit community organization.
He's also a member of the board of directors of the Old People’s Home of the City of Chicago.
Reports from Meaww say that Mesires has been an associate editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal since 2010.
How long has George Mesires represented Hunter Biden?
While it is not clear exactly how long Mesires has represented Joe Biden's son, it is known that Hunter has employed his services since at least 2018.
According to the Daily Mail, Mesires sent an invoice to one of Hunter’s business partners in October 2018.
As Mesires represents Hunter, the two met with US attorney David Weiss in late April 2023 to discuss a long-running investigation into Hunter.
On June 11, 2024, Hunter was found guilty on all counts in his gun trial, which lasted a week.

The charges come after he allegedly purchased and possessed a firearm in October 2018 while he was using narcotics.
"The defendant knew he used crack and was addicted to crack at the relevant time period," prosecutor Leo Wise said during closing arguments.
"There is no evidence that anyone else possessed the gun from October 12 to October 23, other than the defendant," Wise added about the gun Hunter owned for 11 days.
Hunter faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000; however, as this is his first offense, it is unclear if the judge will impose the maximum jail sentence.
What is George Mesires' hourly rate?
The invoice sent by Mesires, found on Hunter Biden’s laptop and published by the Daily Mail, showed the lawyer’s hourly rate of $845.
The two made headlines after texts were reportedly found on Hunter's laptop.
The archived texts show the president's son repeatedly using the word "n***a" and telling his lawyer: "I only love you because you're black."
Mesires’ fees were also mentioned in the published text exchange from December 2018.
In the texts, which were reportedly sent between Hunter and attorney George Mesires, Hunter asks how much he owes the lawyer.
Hunter adds, "Because n***a you better not be charging me Hennessy rates."
