The sick feature encouraged so-called ‘lone wolf’ attacks on people including “intelligentsia, economic and influential personalities of America”.

Under the headline “Professional Assassinations”, with a subheading of “Home Assassinations”, the article included a menacing image of a hooded man standing outside a house at night.

Also featured was a chilling picture of Microsoft founder Bill Gates next to an image of a gun and a blood splatter.

According to the Daily Mail the article said: “The lifeline of big countries is its economy, and the economy is based upon the economic institutions and companies that hold it up.

“And these institutions and companies are led by groups of individuals, thus being the cream and essential unit of the economy. These easy targets bring about great results.

“Imagine every CEO, BOD's and company owner feel threatened in America, imagine them not knowing who will be next to be targeted by the Mujaheddin.

“This will bring about a dent in the American economy, sending ripples to all policy makers and policies in the US.”

The article goes on to provide advice on exactly how wannabe terrorists could go about murdering people in their homes and elsewhere.

Jihadis are encouraged to copy knife attacks on people in the street carried out by extremists in Israel, as well as joining gun clubs to practice their shooting.

There is also a section about bomb-making, and terrorists are even advised to use drones fitted with cameras to spy on properties that can’t be seen well from the ground.

Inspire editor Yahya Ibrahim is directly quoted in the article, claiming assassinations were the hallmark of the Prophet Muhammed.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which obtained a copy of the magazine, Ibrahim says: “The Prophet ordered the killing of many criminal leaders using this method... and here we are, following the footsteps of the Prophet on how he dealt with his enemies and friends.”

He added: “We will never put down our weapons until we fulfil what Allah wants from us.

“We are determined to keep fighting and striking Americans with operations by organised jihadi groups and by Lone Jihad, (and) pursuing America in its homeland – by the will of Allah.”

Inspire is published by Al Qaeda’s Yemeni affiliate – al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – which focuses on attacking targets in the US homeland.
