Barry, 67, passed away after an 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer leaving a lasting memory for his loved ones.

The motors fan ensured that his last goodbye would be a celebration of his life rather than a somber day.

Known for his sense of humour, the former doorman arrived at his final resting place in a Ghostbusters Ectomobile.

The Ghostbusters hearse made its way the cemetery, with smiles as the iconic movie's theme tune rang out.

REA MORE MOTORS

The iconic vehicle belongs to his friend Stan Yanetta, owner of Stan's Autos in South Shields.

He decided to turn it into a Ghostbusters vehicle as his friend is a big fan of the film and can recite it word for word.

It took him just eight weeks to build it from start to finish.

The cars enthusiast said: "Ghostbusters is the most popular. I would say it goes out once a month every month.

“I drive all over the North East in it, I go anywhere. I've done weddings in it and birthday parties.

"The man had been diagnosed with cancer and he said to me: 'Have you still got that car? I want to go in the Ghostbusters'.

"I will put my suit on and he wants the music playing with the lights. I don't think we will see somebody do something like this again."

Stan has created Ghostbusters, Wacky Races, Jurassic ParkChitty Chitty Bang BangSpider-Man and Hulk themed vehicles.

He uses the nine vehicles for events such as weddings and birthday parties and he has a costume to match each one.

Stan also has an eye on doing a Barbie car in the future, but there is a snag in any potential plan.

He said: "People come up to me and say 'Why can't you do one for a girl, like a Barbie car?' I say 'Get me a convertible and I will do it'. I want to build more but I have got nowhere to put them.”

SEND-OFF IN STYLE

AN Only Fools and Horses megafan got his dream send-off after his coffin was driven to his funeral by an iconic Reliant Regal.

Peter Bundy of Southampton, Hants, left behind a devastated family after his unexpected death aged 40.

But he left a smile on the faces of onlookers as he made his final journey towed by a perfect replica of Del Boy's motor.

The IT expert was obsessed with the classic TV comedy - visiting shows in London and even basing his stag-do theme on the show.

Peter was transported in a yellow hearse fashioned as Trotter’s Independent Traders’ three-wheel van.

His wife Suzanne revealed she would have previously had to endure a Reliant Regal as her wedding car - if one was available at the time.

She said: “Only Fools and Horses played such a big part in Peter’s life. The house was filled with memorabilia.

"We would have had the Reliant Regal as our wedding car, so it only felt fitting for his last journey to be in it instead.”
