M&S has confirmed it will be pulling down the shutters on The Docks Dundee Cafe on July 6.

The fan-favourite cafe was part of the M&S Simply Food store in Gallagher, Dundee, Scotland.

"The last day of Store trading is Monday 15th July."

The move comes after the Murraygate Dundee store announced it will be closing on the same day.

But it's not all gloom and doom as M&S is planning to open a brand-new megastore in a Scottish retail park just days after.

The Murraygate and Gallagher branches will be replaced by a massive new location at Gallagher Retail Park.

Shoppers have been told they can expect to pick up incredible deals when it opens at 9am on Tuesday, July 16.

The post read: "On Tuesday 16th July, our new-better-than ever store, Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, will open its doors at 9am.

‘I don’t even have kids yet and I want it’, shoppers swoon over Marks & Spencer’s new Paddington Bear kids’ range, with prices from just £X

"We're looking forward to welcoming all our customers into the new store and coffee shop!"

Renovations have been underway to get the new store ready after it replaced the former DW Sports unit.

The new full-line store is part of M&S' £30million investment in its Scottish stores.

Locals will enjoy a bigger, fresh-market style food hall, which will offer a range of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from M&S’ Select Farm partners.

It will also come with a bigger in-store bakery where shoppers can bag freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries at any time during the day.

As well as foodhall, the new megastore will also boast a huge clothing and beauty section.

The spacious and stylish department will stock summer womenswear, menswear and kidswear clothing.

Much-loved beauty brands Apothecary and Fresh Elements will also be available in the new beauty department.

Customers can also use Click & Collect to easily pick up their online orders.

And customers can also use the Scan and Shop option which allows them to scan and bag their food items as they go and pay using the app.

The retailer had previously announced it would be opening nine food halls and four new full stores across the UK this tax year.

M&S has been pumping £21million into a new department store in Bristol.

The three-level store is set to replace House of Fraser in Cabot Circus and will generate 150 job positions, according to the retailer.

M&S currently has 1,604 locations all over the UK, and employs 65,000 people across its stores globally.

Why everyone is loving M&S

Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained:

“M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about.

“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’ that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear.

“Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.

“The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also.

“Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30.

“After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on.

“Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.”
