Tesco urgently pulls two chocolate bars from shelves and issues ‘do not eat’ warning over ‘health risk’ fears

TESCO shoppers have been warned over an urgent product recall.
Two chocolate bars have been pulled from the shelves as the supermarket urged customers "do not eat" over "health risk" fears.

Anyone who purchased the Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack, 6 x 40g, has been warned there is a risk of peanuts not being listed an ingredient due to a "mispack".
This makes them a risk to anyone with a peanut allergy.
The Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack, 6 x 40g, have also been recalled for the same issue.
A Tesco spokesperson stated: "There is a risk of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient in the product.

The recall best before date for the Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack is February 28, 2025.
What to do if someone is suffering an allergic reaction
Call 999 if:
- your lips, mouth, throat or tongue suddenly become swollen
- you're breathing very fast or struggling to breathe (you may become very wheezy or feel like you're choking or gasping for air)
- your throat feels tight or you're struggling to swallow
- your skin, tongue or lips turn blue, grey or pale (if you have black or brown skin, this may be easier to see on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet)
- you suddenly become very confused, drowsy or dizzy
- someone faints and cannot be woken up
- a child is limp, floppy or not responding like they normally do
How to use an adrenaline auto-injector
If you or someone you're with has a serious allergic reaction and an adrenaline auto-injector (such as an EpiPen), you should use it immediately.
Instructions are included on the side of the injector.
Call 999 for an ambulance after using the injector, even if you or the person you're with seems to be feeling better.

Meanwhile, the recall best before dates on the Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack are January 31, 2025 and February 28, 2025.
Tesco advised customers "do not consume" and return the product to their stores to be given a full refund.

The industry giant also stated no receipt would be required.
A statement on food.gov.uk confirmed: "Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack because they contain peanuts, which are not mentioned on the label.

"This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.
"If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to any Tesco store for a full refund. For more information contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555."
