Asda makes big change to loyalty scheme and drivers will love it – see the full list of sites offering extra cashback

ASDA has made a huge change to its loyalty scheme and drivers will love it.
Members of Asda Rewards can now get extra cashback when purchasing fuel at some of the supermarket's forecourts in a new trial.

Customers who fuel up at 16 of the retailer's petrol stations will earn 0.5% back in their Asda Reward Cashpots.
The supermarket said the cashback earned will equate to roughly 1p for every £2 spent on fuel.
For example, if you were to fill up a 60-litre car with petrol at today's average price of £1.46 a litre (according to RAC Fuelwatch), it would cost £87.60.
Those who scan their Asda Rewards barcode would then earn around 44p back into their Cashpot.

An Asda spokesperson said: "We're always looking to introduce new offers and promotions to provide further value to our customers, so we are excited to announce that we are trailing Earn on Fuel on the Asda Rewards app.
"Asda Rewards users that purchase fuel and scan their Asda Rewards barcode at the point of purchase at one of the 16 petrol stations in the trial will now get 0.5% of the value of their fuel spend into their Asda Rewards Cashpot."

How does Asda's loyalty scheme work?
TO join Asda’s loyalty scheme, you'll need to download the Asda Rewards app which you can find on the Apple App Store and Google Play store.
You'll need to have an account - if you don't, it's pretty easy to sign up.
You’ll need to provide your name as well as some other details.
Then, you can earn cash rewards known as Asda Pounds when shopping in-store and online.
You'll just need to scan the barcode on the app at the checkout.
If you're shopping online, just make sure you're logged into your account, and then browse as normal.
Usually, you can buy certain "star products" which are a mix of branded and Asda own-brand items.
You can see a full list in the dedicated section of the Asda Rewards app, but they're also marked when you're shopping online at Asda.com.
Be mindful of how much you're spending - not every deal will be worth the money you spend to get it and remember to look around other shops to see what deals they have to compare.
Rewards you earn can be accessed in your "cash pot" within the app.
How does it compare to other supermarket schemes?
Members of Morrisons More, Sainsbury's Nectar and Tesco Clubcard can also earn points when filling up at these supermarket's petrol stations.
Morrisons More customers earn five points for every one litre of fuel bought.
Five Morrisons More points equate to 0.5p.
Sainsbury's Nectar customers collect one Nectar point (0.5p) for every one litre of fuel bought.
Nectar customers can also earn points when filling up at Esso petrol stations.
Tesco Clubcard members are rewarded with one Clubcard point (0.5p) for every two litres of fuel purchased.
Other supermarket loyalty schemes
MOST UK supermarkets have loyalty schemes so customers can build up points and save money while they shop.
Here we round up what saving programmes you'll find at the big brands.
- Iceland: Unlike other stores, you don't collect points with the Iceland Bonus Card. Instead, you load it up with money and Iceland will give you £1 for every £20 you save.
- Lidl Plus: Lidl customers don't collect points when they shop, and are instead rewarded with personalised vouchers that gives them money off at the till.
- Morrisons: The My Morrisons: Make Good Things Happen replaces the More Card and rewards customers with personalised money off vouchers via the app.
- Sainsbury's: While Sainsbury's doesn't have a personal scheme, it does own the Nectar card which can also be used in Argos, eBay and other shops. You need 200 Nectar points to save up £1 to spend on your card. You need to spend at least £1 to get one Nectar point.
- Tesco: Tesco Clubcard has over 17million members in the UK alone. You use it each time you shop and build up points that can be turned into vouchers - 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher. Here you need to spend £1 in Tesco to get one point.
- Waitrose: myWaitrose also doesn't allow you to collect points but instead you'll get access to free hot drinks, and discounts off certain brands in store.
Can you get rewards from other petrol stations?
A number of petrol station chains run free loyalty schemes offering customers free petrol, money off flights and points which can be redeemed at major retailers including M&S, Asos and Costa Coffee.
But what do each of the loyalty schemes offer exactly? We've broken them down for you below.
Texaco Star Rewards
Texaco runs around 800 fuel stations across the UK which are owned and operated independently.
With the Star Rewards scheme motorists receive one point worth 1p for every litre of fuel bought.
Once you get to 500 points you can redeem them for £5 off your fuel or exchange them for a £5 Love2Shop Reward voucher code.
The £5 vouchers can be spent across a host of retailers and chains, including M&S, John Lewis, Argos, Just Eat, Asos and Costa Coffee.
You can also decide to donate your £5 to one of a number of charities including Age UK, FareShare and Action for Children.
Texaco is currently offering motorists double points per litre of fuel bought on their first three fill ups too.
The loyalty scheme is free to download on to your smartphone via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
BPme
BP operates over 1,200 service stations in the UK, serving around seven million customers.
Under its BPme Rewards scheme, drivers can earn points on fuel or food bought and use them to get money off future trips.
You earn one point for every litre of regular fuel bought, two points for every one litre of ultimate fuel and one point for every £1 spent in-store.
You can't earn points when buying tobacco, phone cards, baby milk, postage stamps, utility cards, e top-ups or the lottery in-shop though.
Each point is worth 0.5p meaning 200 points is worth £1.
You can redeem any points earned in-store or on fuel, or trade them in at one of BP's partners including M&S and Amazon.
However, you can only start redeeming points once you have earned a minimum 25.
Drivers can also convert points into Avios points, with 40 BPme points worth 25 Avios.
You can sign up to the BPme scheme by picking up a physical card at a forecourt then registering it online.
You can also download the app for free via Google Play or the Apple App Store or order a fob to attach to your keyring.
Customers signing up to the scheme for the first time automatically get £2.50 worth of points for free.
Shell Go+
There are over 1,000 Shell petrol stations in the UK with customers able to save money by signing up to the Shell Go+ scheme.
Drivers automatically get 10% off hot drinks, including Costa Coffee, deli items like sandwiches and engine oils.
Shoppers can also earn "visits" instead of points, by spending £10 or more on fuel or £2 or more in-store per trip, receiving a "reward" to spend on fuel on their 10th visit.
Rewards are discounts of between £1 and £50 off fuel, which vary depending on each customer.
Drivers can also pick up "surprise rewards" at random which include free drinks and food, or money off a car wash when swiping their app or card.

Those on the Shell Go+ scheme can also get added perks through Shell's partners, including discounted breakdown cover and money off tech such as dash cams.
