DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME

We celebrate National Girlfriend Day with some of the most shocking pranks lads have played on their ladies… from glueing on a moustache to putting chilli in her thong

This is your complete 'what not to do' guide

IT IS National Girlfriend Day and across the globe loving boyfriends are lavishing their significant others with praise and attention on this day dedicated to them... possibly.

It is however, more likely that the majority of people don't recognise this as true holiday and life has continued as normal.

While the latter is not the dream scenario, it is better than the treatment some long-suffering girlfriends have to endure.

It appears some fellas prefer "tease and trick" over the more commonly preferred "love and cherish".

Prankster lads have been tricking their girlfriends for years but recently things have stepped up a notch.

From chilli in the underwear to covering your girlfriend in SNAKES, it appears nothing is off limits for these daring lads.

So to mark their creativity and pay respect to the women who put up with them, we have collected our favourites from around the web.

If you hope to keep your girlfriend... best not to try these at home.

Snake charmer?

Serial prankster Derek Deso took things to the extreme by dumping two massive snakes on top of his terrified girlfriend for a YouTube video.

The poor woman struggled to see the funny side screaming until they were removed and even after continuing to cry, screaming at him: “That’s not funny!”

Black-fool Tower

One joker  managed to convince his girlfriend that the Blackpool Tower was melting with this hilarious Photoshopped image.

Ryan McCran tweeted a picture of the phoney Photoshop, along with a screenshot of his girlfriend's text reaction when he told her it was proof that the iconic tower was melting.

Best not to get a-tached

Serial prankster Reuben super glued a fake moustache onto his sleeping girlfriend Rebekah's face.

A "joke" which most women won't appreciate but the mustachioed victim did have it coming after previously gluing the word d*** to his forehead a few months beforehand.

Could have given the girl a heart attack...

This cheeky boyfriend, known only as Sam, went to great lengths to trick his girlfriend, creating a fake BBC broadcast announcing cities - including London, Manchester and Birmingham - were under attack.

Gullible girlfriend Rosie can be seen frantically calling her brother advising him on what to do in cruel footage.

Realising she's been the victim of a prank, Rosie then says: "It's BBC news...is this some sort of joke? Is this all a joke?

"How have you done this?", she asks her giggling boyfriend, "I was really scared. I was crying."

But relieved Rosie doesn't appear to stay mad for long as she joins her partner in fits of laughter.

What is National Girlfriend Day?

National Girlfriend's Day is on August 1 each year.

It is designed to celebrate girl friends around the world - both romantic and platonic.

While men don't tend to celebrate with chocolates and flowers like on Valentines Day - they probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

He needs to take an early bath...

Meanie YouTuber Hammy TV features on a list a couple of times but first off is the cruel prank which saw him trick his girlfriend into taking a bath in super-spicy chilli extract.

Ryan tampered with one of her bath bombs by adding a dash of the world's hottest chilli extract to make a spicy surprise for his poor girlfriend.

People were up in arms about one man's cruel prank where he appeared to push his girlfriend off a cliff.

The loved-up pair held hands as they stood on a steep rock to admire the view of the sea in France before the man pushed his girlfriend causing her to fall backwards off the rock.

Her motionless body lay in a heap on the beach and her boyfriend gave the camera a thumbs up - but many, understandably, aren't convinced the video is the real deal.

Packing heat...

This shocking prankster filmed himself covering his girlfriend's thong with chilli powder before they set off for a jog.

YouTube joker Hammy TV was slammed by viewers for filming his girlfriend's discomfort as the pair were on a run.

This charming fella messaged his girlfriend with some big news on Valentine's Day.

That's right, the caring bloke had arranged to watch a football match on the most romantic day of the year. And he was taking his girlfriend along too... how romantic.

This guy should buzz off...

One VERY naughty lad managed to trick his girlfriend into wearing vibrating pants and proceeded to give her an "orgasm" in front of his mum.

Ryan Hamilton – who runs YouTube channel Hammy TV – decided to give his stunning other half a special surprise as she was getting ready for their evening... and he caught it all on camera.

But in fairness it's not just the lads tricking their girlfriends, it does go the other way around.

This girlfriend pranked her drunk boyfriend into believing he has cheated on her with a Thai ladyboy.

While this woman got revenge on her prankster boyfriend by showering him with PEPPER SPRAY as he washed.

And this mean woman put a dead TARANTULA in her boyfriend’s cheese toastie…and his horrified reaction was priceless.
