Prankster convinces his mate that a Christening is a fancy dress party… and the result is hilarious
As if that wasn't cruel enough, he then documented the entire day and posted the snaps to imgur, where they went viral
A PRANKSTER managed to convince his mate that his son's Christening was a fancy dress party - and then documented the entire event when he turned up dressed as a medieval knight.
He then uploaded the hilarious snaps online, turning his pal into a viral sensation.
The joker dad, whose story was posted yesterday by imgur user Surgas, explained how he came up with the mischievous plan three weeks before the event.
He claimed: "We where hanging out at my place and at some point out of the blue I said, 'By the way the Christening party is gonna be different.. It will be a costume party!'
"It came quite suddenly and I did expect the usual 'Shut up you t***!', but he just looked at me - though a bit suspiciously.

"I had an iPad in my lap and I started to search for cool costumes. We had some great laughs and talked about going as Rocksteady and Bebob.
"At this point I was actually sure he had figured out the scam but hey, we had fun. He went home and I did not think more of it."
Two weeks later, he told how his friend texted to say that he had found the "perfect outfit" and asked if he had a plastic sword he could borrow.
"I answered, 'Sorry, I do not have a plastic sword, looking forward to see your outfit'," he explained.
"Even at this point, two weeks later, I actually thought he was just playing along with the joke. I guess I was wrong.
"I was literally rolling around the floor laughing when he entered the church!"
The man claiming to be the prankster dad told how his friend's partner "was not proud" of the situation - alongside a snap of his chuckling pal sat beside her in church.
He also captured photos of him looking sheepish by the buffet, while other bemused guests helped themselves to food and drink.
The dad added that his mum thought his knight-clad buddy was "some part of an entertainment".
He captioned the final image of his friend and his partner: "His SO (significant other) asking him what time they should be going home."
Many imgur users praised the dressed-up man's good humour.
One wrote: "He stayed, mingled, and kept the costume on. That's a good friend, a stubborn one, or both."
Another commented: "Man he wore that shield with honour. Looks like a stand up guy," while one joked: "Was there an evening do because he looks dressed for the Knight."
