Sharing a clip of their discounted stock, staff at the Braehead store near Glasgow said: "Swim Shorts Now £1."

The holiday clothing was originally priced at £4, meaning you could save £3 a pop.

They're still available in sizes XS - XXL and a range of colours including blue, black, green, orange, white, red and pink.

Primark bosses say: "Made with diving, dipping and front crawling in mind, these classic swimming shorts are ideal for your next underwater excursion.

"Whether you’re taking to the local swimming baths or heading on a tropical getaway, these shorts are sure to keep you comfortable.

"They feature an elasticated waistband for an adjustable fit and slip pockets rest to either side for a touch of on-the-go storage.

"Make a splash and add these swim shorts to your basket asap!"

If you need some for the kids, there's also pairs in the children's department slashed from £2.50 to a quid.

The Primark store's video has racked up 274,000 views in just 24 hours, with savvy shoppers racing to get their hands on the swimwear.

"Stock up", gushed one.

A second pleaded to a loved one: "If you go in and see the orange ones I beg you get me a size medium."

A third sighed: "Should have gone here."

A fourth insisted: "Going to go down next Tuesday!"

Meanwhile, a fifth wrote: "I know I'm gonna go in."

If this has inspired you to nip into your nearest store, it's also worth grabbing a £1.50 buy that’ll save your skin from ageing this summer – and it’s perfect under make-up.

Why is Primark the place to go for bargains?

JUST how does Primark do it? Continue delivering on-trend items at such incredible prices? According to bosses, it's down to four points.

  • They "sell a lot of items" - Thanks to that, they are able to make savings by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
  • They "do very little advertising"
  • While their clothes offer the "latest trends", they "don’t use expensive hangers, tags or labels".
  • And lastly, they try to be "as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores". This includes things like asking "suppliers to pack our t-shirts so they are ready to go straight on shelf".
