Princess Beatrice ‘will invite fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s ex-girlfriend to the wedding’ and ‘wants her future stepson to be the best man’, insider claims

PRINCESS Beatrice is planning on inviting her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's ex-girlfriend to their wedding next year and wants their son to be the groom's best man, a close friend has claimed.

The ninth-in-line, 31, to the throne announced her engagement to multi-millionaire property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36, after a whirlwind 11-month romance last month.

Before his royal romance, Edo was previously engaged to his ex-girlfriend Dara Haung, 37, and the couple share two-year-son Wolfie.

As the couple prepare for their wedding next year, a close friend told the Mail that Dara and Beatrice are on friendly terms and that the Princess wants Wolfie to play a big part in her special day.

Describing how Dara and Edo are on "amicable terms", the source said: "[They] are finding co-parenting to be a great way for one of them to be with Wolfie at all times as they both have busy schedules.

The insider also claimed that the couple take turns staying in their old family home to provide their son with a "consistent environment" - something Princess Beatrice hasn't stood in the way of.

Commenting on how Dara is dealing with the change in family dynamic in a "modern and grown-up way", the source added: "She is totally happy that Beatrice will be developing a relationship with her son and is happy that he will attend the wedding as Edo's best man."

Although details of the couple's big day haven't yet been made public, they revealed in their engagement announcement that they will be tying the knot in 2020.

Edo popped the question during a holiday to Italy and, despite claims that they would have preferred to marry there, royal experts have insisted that they will wed in England because The Queen "won't fly to Europe".

What's more, Beatrice's stunning platinum ring - estimated to be worth up to £300,000 - is incredibly similar to her grandmother's and was designed by Edo to be flanked by four panels of diamonds.

After hearing her ex-boyfriend of three years was engaged, Dara released this short statement: "“I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.”
