Orlando Pirates have landed safely in Spain where they will have their pre-season training camp for the upcoming campaign.

The Buccaneers left South Africa on Monday with a host of players believed to be on Jose Riveiro’s plans for the new season.

Familiar faces such as Olisa Ndah, Thabiso Lebitso, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Innocent Maela are among those in Spain.

Teenage sensation Relebohile Mofokeng has also traveled with the squad alongside out-of-favour winger Monnapule Saleng.

According to the Pirates media team, it took the squad 17 hours to get to Spain.

As things stand, Pirates will play La Liga outfit Sevilla, Plymouth of England as well as Qatarian side Al Sadd during their stay in Spain.

It is the second off-season in a row that Pirates camp in Spain, and this has proven to be a success as they have done well under Riveiro over the last two seasons.

WHO DIDN’T MAKE THE TRIP TO SPAIN?

As things stand, it is unclear who, from those still contracted to the club, didn’t make the trip to Spain with the rest of the Pirates squad.

However, from the previous trip, seven players didn’t make the cut and that’s because they have all been released.

And they are Richard Ofori, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Thabang Monare, Fortune Makaringe, Souaibou Marou, Kermit Erasmus and Vincent Pule.
