Huge dance act forced to cancel Glastonbury slot amid crowd concerns

A HUGE dance act has been forced to cancel their intimate Glastonbury set over fears for crowd safety.

Groove Armada, who have had 10 top 40 singles over the course of nearly three decades, had been scheduled to play a DJ set at the intimate Stonebridge Bar.

But organisers have now pulled the plug and encouraged ticket-holders to see them on bigger stages instead.

A statement put out on social media read: “To ensure that Groove Armada's many fans can enjoy the duo’s DJ sets at this year’s Festival, their performance in the lower-capacity Stonebridge Bar on Thursday night can now not take place.

“Instead, we encourage you to take in their sets at the larger capacity Glade on Sunday at 8.30pm and B2B with Eats Everything at Levels on Saturday at 6:PM. Thank you for your understanding.”

The duo - Andy Cato and Tom Findlay - achieved their biggest hit in 2007 with Song 4 Mutya which peaked at number eight in the UK chart.

The decision comes as we revealed a massive British rock band will be playing a secret set 10 years after headlining the Pyramid Stage.

Kasabian will return to Worthy Farm this weekend with a hit-packed set led by frontman Serge Pizzorno.

Insiders confirmed that they are booked to play Woodsies at 6pm on Saturday.

A source said: “Glastonbury is always a big deal but this year Kasabian really can’t wait, especially as it’s a decade since they were last there.
