Huge bouquet of flowers delivered to Nicola Sturgeon’s house as voters think she should be suspended by SNP

NEARLY half of voters think Nicola Sturgeon should be suspended by the SNP while the police’s investigation into party finances continues.

The ex First Minister’s marital home was swooped on by cops on April 5 - and there are fears too she could be quizzed by detectives.

Cops are looking into concerns about how around £600,000 raised to fund a second indy campaign - including in high-profile 2017 online fundraiser - had been spent by the party.

Ms Sturgeon was spotted leaving her home this morning just after 9am in a black business suit and matching heels.

A huge bouquet from local florist Designer Flowers were delivered to the home after 1pm while she was still out.

After no answer, the delivery man left the flowers at the door.

It comes as YouGov’s polling found 43 per cent of people thought Ms Sturgeon should be suspended from the SNP while the police investigation continued.

But 31 per cent of people said she should keep her place in the party, while 26 per cent said they did not know.

Ms Sturgeon’s hubby Peter Murrell, the ex SNP chief executive, was grilled for 11 hours under caution before being released without charge.

But new SNP leader Humza Yousaf has repeatedly suggested he won’t push for his predecessor to be suspended.

This week he said: “We are far past the time of judging what a woman does based on what happens to her husband.”

Mr Murrell and ex party treasurer Colin Beattie - also quizzed by cops this week and released without charge - also retain their memberships.

Mr Yousaf has said that both should be treated as innocent until proven guilty - despite the SNP previously suspending politicians linked to police probes.

Earlier on, we told how the first voting intentions poll of Mr Yousaf's First Minister tenure shows the SNP have dropped five points in constituency vote share to 38 per cent- the lowest since 2014.

And as recently as December 2022, the SNP were on 50 per cent in the polls.

The Scottish Labour Party boosted their vote share by four points to 30 per cent, the highest since before the 2014 vote.

The Scottish Tories took 16 per cent and the Lib Dems took 10 per cent.

But support for Scottish Independence looks to be staying the same with 46 per cent voting Yes and 54 per cent voting No.
