‘Filthy low life’, cry NC500 locals after birdwatcher spots campervan tourist in foul act
A BIRDWATCHER got more than he bargained for when a vile NC500 tourist spoiled his view in the most disgusting way possible.
The local was keeping an eye on a Wheatear when the campervan pulled up at the side of the road.
He was horrified when the man hopped out and then did a poo on the grass verge.
The birdwatcher said: “The guy drove up in a black campervan, squatted down and did his dirty business.
“Then he wiped himself, threw it away and went back to his van. I had the full view in my binoculars.”
The resident revealed the disgusting encounter happened close to a ruined castle in Wick, Caithness.

He added: “That wasn’t the type of wildlife I expected to see. His mess will be there for the next person walking by.”
The birdwatcher posted about the incident on Facebook page NC500 The Land Weeps, along with a snap of the tourist.
It comes as locals reveal they are fed up with the behaviour of tourists travelling along the popular route.
One resident said: “Why have people lost their dignity and manners? That is absolutely disgusting behaviour.”

Another added: "I think possibly they don’t want to contaminate their nice van or pay to have it emptied.
“They would rather foul up our beautiful countryside because to them it’s wilderness so who could they possibly be harming.”
One poster slated the driver as “filthy low life”, while another called him “vermin”.
The North Coast 500 was launched in 2015 to boost tourism in the Highlands.
Described as the “ultimate road trip” it begins and ends in Inverness and is now renowned across the globe.
It’s led to more tourists flooding into the HIghlands than ever before, especially in campervans.
But residents claim their lives have been turned into nightmare as they are forced to deal with visitors pooing outside their homes.
They accuse tourists of camping in graveyards and dumping their waste in villages because they refuse to pay to stay in official sites.
