Scots comedian flogging £4m castle with 13 bedrooms and three cottages
COMEDIAN Craig Ferguson has put his luxury Scots castle up for sale for £3.95m after selling another stately home in Ayrshire.
Ferguson, 62, put 13-bedroom Cassillis castle, which he has owned since 2021, on the market due to work commitments.
The move comes days after he sold 18-bedroom Bargany House.
Cassillis, in South Ayrshire, was bought by Ferguson and his wife Megan in 2021.
The pair set about improving the category A listed property which comes with a five-bedroom converted coach house and three smaller estate cottages.
It also comes with 1.8 miles of salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Doon and is nestled near to Prestwick and Glasgow airports.

Cassillis was built in the 15th century but now features a ballroom. library, cinema room and a gym.
Previous owner and founder of Confused.com Kate Armstrong purchased the property in 2009 for £3m when it was in a state of disrepair.
Her four year quest to return the castle to its former glory featured in an episode of BBC show Restoration Home which saw the castle stripped back to bare walls and painstakingly upgraded.
A sales brochure on Cassillis from upmarket estate agents Knight Frank said: “The castle is approached through electric gates via a private tarmac driveway which follows the River Doon, passed the estate houses and terminated in a gravelled parking area to the front.

“Understood to date to the early 15th century, the A-listed castle has been comprehensively and sympathetically refurbished.
“Laid out over five storeys, the accommodation is shown on the accompanying floor plans. The castle has retained many historic features internally.”
Bargany, also in Ayrshire, boasts a study, cinema, games room, billiard room and gymnasium, while seven of the bedrooms also have ensuite bathrooms.
It is situated in seven acres of grounds which include formal gardens, lawn and woodland in the heart of the Bargany Estate while the Girvan Water flows past its northern side.
The A-listed mansion is accessed down a three quarter mile drive from the road, through impressive gate piers, passing woodland and an ornamental lake.
Ferguson, of Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire, fell in love with the pile during a visit home to Scotland and paid £150,000 over the asking price to get the keys.
He put it on the market for offers over £2.2m but slashed the price to offers over £1.95m to try and find a buyer.
Ferguson became a massive star in America as host of The Late Late Show for which he earned a reported £8 million a year.
He hosted the CBS show for nine years but after quitting in 2014, he sold his property in Los Angeles and moved back to Scotland after becoming bored with the showbiz lifestyle.
Since leaving The Late Late Show, Ferguson has performed stand-up tours and hosted US game shows Celebrity Name Game and The Hustler.
He has previously told how he loved being back in Scotland because hardly anyone recognises him.
Ferguson said: “I quite like the fact that the only people who remember me in Scotland are cab drivers over the age of 50.

“I love not being recognised, it’s great.”
