A popular downtown Lakeland dining spot is getting new life. What's new at the old Red Door

One of Downtown Lakeland's favorite outdoor dining spots is getting new life, as the new owners get ready to start serving up food and beverages under a new name.
The Peach House will take over the historic home formerly occupied by Red Door Wine Market at 733 E. Palmetto St. The location well known for its front patio dining area directly across the street from the Main Branch of the Lakeland Public Library.
Jeannie Weaver Lopez, a co-owner of The Peach House, said the restaurant is hosting its family and friends preview events this week. She hopes to open to the public sometime late next week, but an exact date has not been announced.

Weaver Lopez accepted Lakeland's commercial beautification award at Monday's City Commission meeting for updates to the historic home's exterior and Florida-friendly plantings.

The restaurant's conditional use permit, granted by the city in June 2023, allows it a maximum indoor seating capacity of 47 people in addition to its outdoor seating.
Previously, the building was home to the Red Door Winter Market owned by Richard DeAngelis from 2009 to May 2023.
