Carlos K Sutton Sr., 77, of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Carlos was born in Louisville, KY, on December 13, 1946, to the late Estle & Dallas Sutton. He was preceded in death by his siblings Gerald Sutton, Hollis Sutton, Estle Swearingain and Nema Haines.

Survived by His loving Wife of forty eight years Faye Sutton and their children; Jerry Putnal, Karen Putnal Hollon, Michele Putnal Tavlin (David), Keith Sutton (Tanya), and Michael Sutton (Robin). Twelve Grandchildren he so adored, and the ten great grandchildren he enjoyed every minute spent with them.

He was a loving husband, father and friend with no limit as to what he would do for those that he loved without abandon. A great earthly example of our heavenly father, quick to forgive, never reminding us of our faults.

Starting in the late 70s, he built a very successful business- Commercial Insurance Consultants in Lakeland, FL. He traveled the entire state of Florida taking great pleasure helping his clients solve problems - many of those clients became lifelong friends. Also, one of his great business accomplishments was introducing many new people to the insurance business he so loved. Many of those are still practicing insurance today and point back to him as the catalyst that started their careers.

Tremendous sportsman and marksman, he so enjoyed his many adventures hunting and fishing all over North America. He was always more excited when Faye, his wife, killed the biggest deer or elk, which happened regularly. Other interest and hobbies were farming and cattle.

He loved his country and served in the Army stateside during the Vietnam War.

He leaves behind a strong legacy of Love for God, Family, and Country.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 2-3pm with services to begin at 3pm, Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810.
