Capping off a historic year, recently graduated third baseman Wyatt Henseler, co-captain of the Penn men’s baseball team, added a second All-America title to his already impressive resume this past Friday.

Announced to the third-team American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America, Henseler is now a two-time All-America recipient, following his selection to the third team in 2022. He is just the second Quaker in Penn’s baseball program history to achieve two All-America honors and the first in 33 years.

First recognized in 1949, the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA D-I All-America teams represent the best amateur collegiate athletes in the country, who often lead their respective teams to conference championships and postseason wins.

Henseler is no exception, raking in 232 hits, 64 runs, 50 doubles, 452 total bases, and 54 home runs over his career — with of these stats standing as program records. Also having broken the program single-season home run record in each of the past three seasons, Henseler played a key role in bringing the Quakers to regular season Ivy titles and the NCAA tournament in 2023 and 2024.

Aside from his All-America distinction, Henseler was also unanimously selected as Ivy League Player of the Year and first team All-Ivy this season. During the five-game Ivy series, Henseler hit .375 with three home runs and 10 RBIs, and he was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Ivy League Tournament. The team ultimately fell to both Virginia and St. John’s during its NCAA appearance, ending its season with an overall record of 24-25 and conference record of 11-10.

Following the end of the season, Henseler was also honored as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Year and named to the All-ECAC team this past Thursday, rounding out a special senior season and spectacular collegiate career with a home run.
