Bhutan is a landlocked country located in Asia with mountainous areas.

Climate Change Policies

Remain carbon neutral + efforts to maintain current levels of forest cover, currently at 70.46%, with a minimum objective of maintaining 60% of total land under forest conditional to external support.

Adaptation: Priority actions:

1) Increase resilience to the impacts of climate change on water security;

2) Promote climate resilient agriculture to contribute towards achieving food and nutrition security;

3) Sustainable forest management and conservation of biodiversity to ensure sustained environmental services;

4) Strengthen resilience to climate change induced hazards + 5 other highlighted priority actions.
