We are seeing Travis Kelce’s plan to become as famous as the Rock play out in real time. How exciting! Kelce’s latest move was just announced, and he’ll be jumping straight from hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? to a role on a new Ryan Murphy show. Sadly, it’s not a Glee prequel where Kelce plays a younger version of Kurt’s dad.

According to Deadline, Kelce has signed on to be part of Murphy’s Grotesquerie, the TV auteur’s upcoming FX series. Not much is known about the show right now — it doesn’t even have a logline — but we do know that it’s horror. We also know that Kelce is joining a very talented cast that includes Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville. Kelce has hosted Saturday Night Live and done one million commercials. So his résumé isn’t as stacked as his co-stars,’ but hey, neither was Lady Gaga’s when she was in American Horror Story, and now she’s in Joker 2. Anything is possible.

What little we do know of the show comes mostly from an Instagram video posted by Murphy back in February. It features audio of a terrified Nash-Betts making what sounds like a phone call, telling someone,  “I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now. There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world, a kind of hole to the center of nothingness.” Maybe Kelce is playing the hole? We’ll find out when Grotesquerie premieres this fall.
