After several tryouts, Roderic Teamer is signing with his hometown team.

The New Orleans Saints are set to sign the former Tulane safety to a one-year contract, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Thursday. Teamer, 27, previously tried out for the Saints at rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp.

Teamer not only played at Tulane, but grew up in New Orleans and attended Brother Martin High School.

Despite going undrafted in 2019, Teamer has been able to carve out a career in the NFL. He has appeared in 40 games with 11 starts for 103 tackles and one interception. Teamer began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers and spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

New Orleans had a roster spot available after waiving defensive back Faion Hicks days earlier.
