SPECKLED TROUT: New regulations in effect, 15 per day measuring 13-20 inches with two trout more than 20 inches allowed in daily catch.

REDFISH: New regulations in effect, four-fish daily limit, 18-27 inches “slot” limit, no redfish more than 27 inches long.

OPEN RECREATIONAL SEASONS: Recreational, state for-hire & federal for-hire red snapper; southern flounder; lane, blackfin, queen and silk snappers & wenchmen among other snapper species; all groupers except closed for gag, red, goliath & Nassau groupers in state/federal waters; and, federal for-hire permitted vessels for red snapper season through Aug. 27.

CLOSED SEASONS: Greater amberjack; gray triggerfish; gag, red, goliath & Nassau grouper in state/federal waters. Federal for-hire, red snapper permit holders.

Closed: Catfish Bayou, Blount, Goose Lake & Dobbs Bay roads, Blackhawk boat launch, Blackhawk & Lincecum roads & trails and all roads east of the Mississippi River levee (Richard Yancey WMA, flooding); Rice Field & Signo roads (Thistlethwaite WMA); Island Road fishing pier (Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA, parking lot repairs), Tram ATV Trail (Tunica Hills WMA, repairs), & Hope Canal Road/boat launch (Maurepas Swamp WMA, levee construction).
