LSU gymnastics signee Kaliya Lincoln started and finished strong Friday to wind up the first session of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Minneapolis in sixth place in the all-around.
Lincoln is set to enroll at LSU this fall and compete for the Tigers in 2025.
She finished with a 14.150 on floor, her mark behind only that of former Olympic champion and all-around leader Simone Biles (14.850). Lincoln also was sixth on vault (14.225), helping her to an all-around score of 54.875.
The women’s competition concludes Sunday. The top scorer, likely Biles at this point, earns an automatic spot on the five-woman U.S. team going to the Olympics next month. The other four team spots will be determined by a selection committee, considering results from the trials and previous competitions.
The committee will also pick four alternates, two of which will train with the U.S. squad in Paris.
A native of Frisco, Texas, Lincoln was a double gold medalist for the U.S. in the 2023 Pan American Games.
