LSU right-handed pitcher Thatcher Hurd has entered the transfer portal after two seasons in Baton Rouge, On3 sports reported on Tuesday.

Hurd, who was the opening day starter for the Tigers in 2024, is coming off a bumpy season that included a 3-4 record with a 6.55 ERA in 18 appearances, including nine starts. 

The high point for Hurd at LSU came during the 2023 College World Series when he was the winning pitcher in the deciding game of the championship series against Florida. He held the Gators to two runs on two hits in 6 innings, striking out seven and walking two in an 18-4 win for the Tigers.

Hurd began his college career at UCLA in 2022, going 2-0 with a 1.06 ERA in nine appearances, including six starts.

Hurd enters the portal with a no contact tag, according to On3.
