The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris are fast approaching, with the opening ceremony set for July 26 and the Olympic flame not extinguished until Aug. 11.

A growing contingent of athletes with LSU and Louisiana ties have qualified or been selected to compete in Paris, with more likely on the way.

As of July 9, there were 33 LSU former or current athletes plus one athlete each from New Orleans and Lafayette who were on rosters for the Games.

LSU's total far eclipses the 22 athletes who made it to the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.
