LSU head coach Jay Johnson walks along the first baseline during warmups for the game against Auburn on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Utah Valley State infielder Daniel Dickinson has committed to LSU baseball out of the transfer portal, he confirmed on social media Tuesday.

Dickinson hit 18 home runs, stole 32 bases and posted a 1.131 on-base plus slugging percentage in 58 games this past season for Utah Valley. He posted a .372 batting average with nine homers in 2023 as a freshman.

He's played the majority of his collegiate career at second base but also has experience at third base and shortstop. He also spent one game in left field in the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer.

After nine games on the Cape, Dickinson has spent the majority of his summer playing with the U.S. Collegiate National Team.

Dickinson is the 11th player LSU has landed out of the transfer portal from a Division I school and the fifth positional player.

With Tommy White off to professional baseball, Dickinson fills a potential hole at third base for the Tigers. The only potential third baseman they've added this offseason is junior college transfer Tanner Reaves, who is not primarily a third baseman.

High school signee and third baseman Kale Fountain could also potentially arrive at LSU in 2025. According to MLB.com, Fountain is a top-125 prospect in next week's MLB Draft.
