The NWS in New Orleans invoked Chappell Roan's lyrics in "HOT TO GO!" to describe the triple digit heat indices across the state and record breaking high temperatures seen in Baton Rouge this week.
"This heat will have you saying 'it's like 199 degrees!'" the NWS tweeted, which is a nod to the rising pop star from the Midwest who recently performed at Hangout Fest and Bonnaroo. She also opened for Olivia Rodrigo in New Orleans earlier this year.

"The only relief will be afternoon storms," the NWS said, adding that residents should take breaks when outside and drink lots of water to stay hydrated and avoid heat-related illness.
A heat advisory is in effect for New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the Mississippi Coast until 7 p.m. Wednesday. The feels like temperature could reach 108, the NWS said.
