Women steal dogs from Loranger home

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for two women who were caught on camera unleashing and stealing puppies from a Loranger home in late June.

Deputies were dispatched to the home in the 17000 block of Highway 40 on the evening of June 22, according to the sheriff's office. When deputies arrived, the homeowner reported that two women had pulled into his driveway in a white vehicle, walked into his backyard and left with three German shepherd puppies that had been chained up in the yard.

The Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office shared surveillance footage of the theft to its Facebook page on Tuesday.

In the video, the women are seen rushing onto the home's back porch to unleash the puppies, each of which were tied up separately on the porch and in the yard. One woman appears to point directly at the camera before she picks up a puppy and runs to her car with it in her arms.

The sheriff's office encouraged anyone with information about the theft to contact Sgt. Jill Hutcheson at (985) 748-3335 or Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa at 1-800-554-5245.
