Around 40,000 pounds of candles were scattered across Interstate 10 westbound Sunday morning after a crash involving multiple 18-wheelers, Louisiana State Police said.

Four overturned 18-wheelers and a passenger car were involved in the crash, State Police said.

I-10 westbound at mile marker 149 near Port Allen was closed for hours starting around 4 a.m. Sunday, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said. All westbound traffic was diverted from I-10 onto La.415 (Lobdell Highway).

I-10 westbound reopened as of 2:50 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff's Office said.
