Correctional officers prevented an inmate escape attempt Tuesday morning at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections said in a news release.
Officers were able to capture the inmate, who was attempting to leave Camp D at the facility, according to the release.
Additional information was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
