From now until Aug. 11, customers at Overpass Merchant, Curbside Burgers, Chow Yum and Gail's Fine Ice Cream in Baton Rouge can enjoy discounted frozen drinks when the 'Daq-O-Meters' reach 96 F or above.

There is a certain time of the year in south Louisiana when the heat fogs your sunglasses, frizzes your hair and makes your body glisten.

The people at Hufft Marchand Hospitality have a solution: Hot Days. Cold Drinks.

Now until Aug. 11, customers at Overpass Merchant, Curbside Burgers, Chow Yum and Gail's Fine Ice Cream in Baton Rouge can enjoy discounted frozen drinks when the "Daq-O-Meters" reach 96 F or above.

The 'Daq-O-Meter' is seen at Chow Yum in Baton Rouge.

When the temperature spikes, frozen drinks like strawberry margaritas at Overpass Merchant and coconut mojitos at Chow Yum drop to $7. Not to leave out the sweets, milkshakes at Gail's and Curbside drop to $5.

The best part? Customers get to keep the cups, which feature the Olympic Rings and the "Hot Days. Cold Drinks." logo.

"What better way to lean into the hot summer weather than to run a fun frozen drink promo based on the temperature?," said Lon Marchand, co-owner of Hufft Marchand Hospitality. "We’re always looking to keep things interesting in our stores, so this was our way of blending a good time with a good deal when things move a little slower around here.”

New Orleans-based Hufft Marchand Hospitality restaurants Junior's on Harrison and Gail's Fine Ice Cream are also participating in the special.
