Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Drive, will hold its spring revival at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Henry J. Brown of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church and First Emmanuel Missionary Baptist.

A complimentary dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. each day with praise and worship starting at 6:45 p.m.

Holy Week Symposium

New Hope Baptist Church, 5856 Greenwell Springs Road, will hold "The Road to Calvary" Holy Week Symposium from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday-Thursday.

Guest speakers will be the Rev. LeReginald Jones, of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (Monday); the Rev. Lamar Batiste, of Mount Gillion Baptist Church (Tuesday); Bishop Gregory Cooper Sr., Antioch and Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist churches (Wednesday); and the Rev. Henry J. Brown, of Star of Bethlehem and First Emmanuel Baptist churches (Thursday).

Holy Week at St. Joseph Cathedral

St. Joseph Cathedral, 401 Main St., will celebrate Holy Week with liturgies led by Bishop Michael G. Duca and the Rev. J. Cary Bani, cathedral rector.

Palms will be blessed and distributed at Masses at 4 p.m. Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Duca and co-celebrating priests will renew their commitment to priestly service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. At 6 p.m. Thursday, the washing of the feet and transfer of the Blessed Sacrament to the altar of repose take place. 

The annual Outdoor Way of the Cross starts at 9 a.m. Friday. The walk traces the 14 “stations” of Christ on a route from the cathedral plaza to the Capitol grounds and back to the cathedral. Following at 3 p.m. will be the solemn liturgy of Good Friday.

The Great Easter Vigil, beginning with the Service of Light as the Paschal Candle, begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 30. On Sunday, March 31, Easter Mass will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Easter Festival

Greater Mt. Canaan Church, 5820 Evangeline St., will hold its Easter Festival 2024 at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Baton Rouge Jehovah’s Witnesses hold 'Lord's Evening Meal' event

Baton Rouge area Jehovah’s Witnesses will commemorate the death of Jesus Christ with a 'Lord's Evening Meal' on Sunday.

The annual observance will feature a talk highlighting the significance of Jesus’ death and what it means for mankind. The one-hour event will begin and end with prayer.
