Taste of patriotism

FLAG PRESENTATION—Representatives from VFW West Valley Post 2805 in Canoga Park recently presented local restaurateur Marco Gonzalez, center, with a flag that flew over the Washington D.C. Capitol. VFW also gave him a flag certificate of authenticity from the U.S. Congress. The flag was given in appreciation of one of Gonzalez’s two Conejo Valley restaurants, Tavern 101 in Agoura Hills, which has donated barbecue ribs and other food during VFW celebratory events on patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day over the past three years. Gonzalez also owns and operates 101 BBQ Hut in Westlake Village. Courtesy photo
