The 32-year-old actor was welcomed into the BBC Breakfast studio by Sally Nugent and Jon Kay to discuss the upcoming episodes of the show.

The second half of the third series is set to drop this week as it follows the intense love story between Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).

Ahead of the new set of four episodes, the star teased that die-hard viewers will enjoy the rest of the third instalment.

"Everyone's going to be satisfied, the fans are going to be satisfied with the ending," Imhangbe stated.

As Sally, 52, appeared pleased, the actor couldn't help but give away another little nugget as he added: "And also they're gonna want more."

The mysterious answer left the presenter utterly intrigued as she dug deeper, asking the guest for more information as she asked for more answers.

He replied: "There’s always more. Which is good. It’s a nice little balance isn’t it."

Her co-host Jon, 54, then noted that the series has potential to branch out anywhere as there are many interconnected characters within the universe.

He joked: "It could go on forever potentially!"

In April 2021, Netflix confirmed that it commissioned the show until at least series four.

The actor then explained how there are even more stories to tell as Julia Quinn wrote more books in the Bridgerton series.

'Unbearable!' fume Bridgerton fans as they blast Netflix for 'sick' cliffhanger ending to first season three episodes

"There are eight books, so potentially eight seasons," Martins noted.

The third series of the hit period drama was inspired by the fourth book in the franchise, Romancing Mr Bridgerton.

The first two series were based off the best-selling novels, The Duke & I and The Viscount Who Loved Me, which followed the Bridgerton siblings of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) retrospectively.

The other five books tell the individual love stories of the rest of the familial clan, Benedict, Eloise, Francesca, Hyacinth and Gregory.

Who are the Bridgerton siblings?

THERE are eight Bridgerton siblings in total.

Here's who they are in age - and alphabetical - order:

Anthony - the oldest Bridgerton is played by Jonathan Bailey. He was the main focus of season two and after a lot of will-they/won't they he ended up marrying Kate Sharma.

Benedict - the second son, played by Luke Thompson, is the focus of the third book. However his romance is not the main story featured in season three of the Netflix drama, which will instead focus on his younger brother, Colin

Colin - Luke Newton plays Colin, who is a favourite with the ladies. He is also the object of desire for Penelope Featherington, who is also the mysterious Lady Whistledown. However as the season starts he is unaware of this fact, and ready to hunt down the anonymous gossip writer.

Daphne - season one introduced us to Daphne, the oldest female Bridgerton sibling. Played by Phoebe Dynevor, viewers watched her romance with Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings, unfold, gaining actor Regé-Jean Page many fans.

Eloise - book-loving Eloise has delighted viewers with her rebellious spirit and tomboy ways. She made her debut in society during the second season and was horrified to find that her best friend, Pen, was Lady Whistledown. Eloise is played by Claudia Jessie.

Francesca - Hannah Dodd has been brought in to play Francesca in season three, as she makes her social season debut. Francesca was played by Ruby Stokes in the first two seasons.

Gregory - Gregory is played by Will Tilston. As yet he has not played a key part in the series as he's too young to be presented before the Queen. His story features in book eight of the series.

Hyacinth - the youngest Bridgerton sibling is played by Florence Hunt. Although younger than Gregory, Hyacinth's story is featured in book seven.

Will Mondrich was one of the original characters of the show as he appeared alongside the likes of Rege-Jean Page in the first series.

In the new set of episodes, the his family inherited new wealth and 'Ton' status after Lady Kent died.

She was the aunt of his his wife Alice (played by Emma Naomi) and the late noblewoman left their eldest son - who is still a child - a great fortune and the title in her will.

In a mirror to the character, Martins admitted the great impact the series itself has had on his personal life.

"I've been on the show since 2019, so when it [first] came out during lockdown," he remarked.

"It was like a phenomenon, it blew up, like family were calling me, and it just keeps evolving."

The star added: "It keeps getting better and the fan base is growing, and people are going back to watch season one and catching up now.

"So it's just the gift that keeps on giving and it's just expanding."

Why is Bridgerton still so popular?

By deputy TV editor, Felicity Cross

WHEN Bridgerton landed during lockdown, it swept us all into a world of bejewelled gowns, lavish balls and endless bonking - and the world went mad for it.
Even the sexless second series didn’t damp down TV viewers’ lust for the Regency romp and fans have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the third series.
And they won’t be disappointed.
The opener finally gives us some action from gorgeous series two newlyweds Anthony and Kate in scenes that would make your granny blush.
There’s drama and intrigue as the hunt for Lady Whistledown hots us, and laugh out loud comedy from the chaotic Featherington family.
But ultimately the season belongs to new romantic leads Colin and Penelope, whose will-they-won’t-they love story is fun, flirty and utterly believable and its, ahem, climax at the end of episode four will take your breath away.
Is Bridgerton still must-watch telly? Corset is.
